Thread: Lower Profile Sights?

I was thinking about how the standard AR-15 sights are so high above the barrel by the rifle straightening design when compared to the irons of a "Classic" type rifle.


Would there be any advantages or disadvantages to have sights that are lower on the rails?

Do these exist?

You'll probably not have to worry much about hight over bore when shooting a target at 10ft at a carbine course....

LaRue, there is a reason for the sights where they are ...... look at where the cheek rest is ........ compare that to a conventional rifle. The comb on a conventional stock is about the same proportion lower than the sights on the rifle as the sights sit higher than the comb on an AR........
