Default Spikes LKP and battle trigger review

everything i post here can be verified by BGCoop a mod here. i ordered a Spikes LPK a while back to finish a pistol project, the LPK looks to me at least like a rebagged DPMS kit. the rolls pins had to be beaten in, the bolt catch was out of spec. and the trigger was absolutely horrible. even polishing the trigger did VERY little to help. i could have bought a J&T, Stag/CMT, Daniel defense for close to or the same money.

the "battle trigger" is 60 bucks shipped from AIM, so i though what the heck. it's coated, "smooth" as per fanboys on ARFCOM. installed the triiger on a middy DI rifle and was shocked to feel a gritty trigger. i am not thrilled with Spikes. i did e-mail them and have yet to get a resonse, going on a couple of weeks.

just wanted to give you guys a heads up and what i have seen first hand. i do believe Spikes is a better compant than what i have received. i know the pistol tube kit was first rate, the T2 buffers are first rate, and have seen their upper perform flawlessly. even a 10.5 upper ran 100% at a carbine shoot i attended, i would be very careful in choosing a LPK from them

You're not the only person I've heard say that about their battle trigger.

I had an issue with an order one time that took several months to straighten out.

AIM has some smokin' deals on uppers from them, i think that will be the extent of parts i buy from them. i have also heard that it takes a while to get problems straightened out

I always wondered if the battle trigger offered any significant advantage. Please inform if yours gets better.

What makes the Battle Trigger any better than a regular trigger?

Like he said it's supposed to be coated and "smoother" but from what I've read it seems to be either hit/miss or some sort of gimmick and it's definitely not like buying a trigger with a specific weight rating. Still researching the trigger game myself.

I have one rifle with a RRA two stage I used for hunting and it seemed fine. I need to swap it out and put it in my 6.8.

The other regular triggers I've installed all seemed to smooth out after a few hours of working them by hand.

Yeah that's the thing. Some say the Spike's battle trigger smooths with time but I'm back here thinking "Ain't that the same with all mil-spec triggers?"

damn still figuring out this site, lol. Larue i will post back. from what i've seen nothing brings back DPMS triggers. Daniel Defense, J&T, Stag/CMT and some Rock River single stage are all GTG from the first pull. Brandon shot an M4 i built a friend and was amazed at the stock trigger, it was a bone stock Stag/CMT, it felt like it had a trigger job.

i just felt Spikes should be better than Model1, DPMS, etc.....with all the fanboys burning up the gun forums, you would think Jesus himself created Spikes. just very dissappointed with them.
