Ron did my gas system and I like it alot. I think he's working on some magblocks too.
I think to do a blowback you may need a heavier carrier or a strong buffer spring.

I currently have a 9mm AR15 and was planning to use that carrier and buffer setup if possible. Did you use a .223 bolt opened up to accommodate the 7.62 round?
Yes I did use a .223/5.56 bolt that Ron opened up for me.
9mm bolt should work for the round. Its been done before. Blowback is a little violent. Heavy buffer & spring will be a must. This is why I went the gas route.
I'm also interested in this project. I'm thinking of a blowback action because of the corrosive ammo in a gas tube, or is it an issue? What wieght buffer and spring will this require? I see Heavy Metal is making the mag well adapters, how are they working? They speak of a modified PPs43 mag, what changes need to be made?
I cut the slot for the mag catch & reduce the large hump on the back of the mag.
If you don't mind, could you tell me the distance to the gas block you used, the barrel length, and size of the gas port you drilled?
I have made a build myself, but alas the bolt failed and I am wondering if it was a pressure issue. The fact that the extractor pin broke the week before leaves me wondering if there is simply too much pressure at the bolt too quickly in the curve.
I plan to add a needle valve arrangement to my gas block when I get new parts and then I can rule this out by gradually increasing the pressure for function.
Thanks!
Here are some build pics:
