I dont really get along with my grandmother, when I go to Maine I can only be around her for small stints like an hour max or she drives me insane .... but I still dont want to see her go.

Very cool carbine. How much is the average cost per round? Is the .30 carbine ammunition good for any hunting or just plinking?

I seem to recall someone in Georgia buying an ammo can from a garage sale and was surprised to find it full of .30 cal ammunition. I don't remember how much he paid but he got a deal.

Wish I'd bought one years ago when a surplus store here had them for $450.00.

If I had one I'd hand load for it and use it for hog hunting FTW.

If you compare it with the German 9mm round for the Shmeisser submachine gun, and the 7.62x25 Communist Chinese burp gun round, the .30 cal Carbine round ballistics come out on top. I think it is a fine home defense weapon. The main drawback is the ammo is very pricey these days.

If you actually check, the ballistics are about the same, actually a bit better, than the .357 mag, which so many brag on as a defensive round and deer killer. The secret I believe, is to use the soft tip ammo, and not the fmj's.
