I wanted to build a budget 308. So I ordered a remington 700 SPS tactical 308, 20" heavy barrel, houge over molded stock. I bought a millet lrs to go with it, 6-25X56 with the 35mm tube.

First thing I will do is replace the stock, probably an A5 but I dont know yet.

You following the lead of the other person on here who tricked out a walmart Remington 700?

I decided on that rifle after getting two in the shop and playing around with the trigger. Then I read some reviews on the gun itself and most were getting 1/2" groups @100 yards with the gun out of the box.

A stock Rem 700 30-06 is what I won the 400 yard competition with in Alaska in 2007.

one of the most accurate out of the box rifles I have ever owned was a 7mm 700 BDL. I have always been partial to the remington rifles.

Rem 700 is still one of the tops in the world amongst our military...

Where did you order the Millett from? I need glass for my FN SPR

my millett rep had one laying around his office. I think I might get a burris though. Any thoughts on the Xtreme Tactical 6X-24X-50mm?

Personally I don't want that much magnification, but a lot of that has to do with what you plan on doing with the rifle.
