Ranier has the WOA SPR barrels for around $280

there are much cheaper 18" barrels out there than WOA, but WOA has the quality. I don't have the list any more since I bought a WOA but I believe DPMS has one $100 cheaper.
back on topic, I really want to try one of those 16" barrel but I would really like a midlength gas system....
someone needs to buy one and do a range report.

see if you can get him to do a midlength too. also if you tell him you saw it on that other board it was $10 off.
