Thumbs up NJ F&G Council Approves Crossbows in All Bow Season

I know this does not pertain to GA, but since I'm a member here, thought I'd share some good news with y'all. I have been a crossbow advocate and have been in the midst of the heated debates in my state of NJ since April 2006. I am happy to say, this past Tue, June 16th, the F&G Council voted unanimously for full inclusion of crossbows. Was a great day and well worth the 4 hour drive, round trip. I am proud to have been a part of this "historical" moment and am very glad the Council concentrated on the "facts" and didn't let the outdated rhetoric and speculation and fears keep them from doing a good job. :D

    Very good.

I see in a LOT of States, Crossbow advocates fighting Traditional archers, Muzzleloaders versus Modern firearms, even in-fighting among the Muzzleloading ranks over "definitions". To my way of thinking, this sort of fighting only strengthens PETA, the Brady Bunch and a whole slew of other SRBs. Hunters and Shooters serve themselves a whole bunch better if they present a united front to the antis. Personally, I hate it when somebody tags a gun with a rifled barrel as a "shotgun", but wouldn't try to scrub the loophole they find in the "Shotgun Only" hunting areas.

Absolutely, PETA, HSUS, ect salivate when hunters pit other hunters against each other. This is one reason I joined in the fight, as it's a hunters' rights issue, and goes way beyond a hunter's choice of archery equipment. Am also a supporter of the NJOA, which is a PAC (Political Action Committee) that helps ALL outdoorsmen/women in NJ. The fights are endless, as long as the ANTIs keep trying to stop hunting, fishing, trapping, ect.

Thanks much for the nice comments. Recently, we got the Sunday bow hunting bill passed and we're currently working on the 150 ft perimeter bow bill. Looking good, so far.
