    Default shotgun speed strippers

California Competition Works Speed Stripper Tactical Shotshell Holder

anyone use these? I read where people prefer the 4 to the 6 shell holder. I went ahead and bought 4 of the 4 shell holders. Brownells was the only site on the net that had them in stock. Everyone had the 6 shell holders.

what do you guys think of these?

I run em, most of the 3 gun shooters prefer the 4 to the 6 because you can pull 4 at a time and hold em in your hand where 6 is too many to grab at once and manage loading weak hand.

There are half a dozen companies that make the same basic design, some make them out of aluminum, some make em out of plastic, but the most common ones you will see are 4 rounders.

why two shims with them? I put the fatter shims in cause with those the 2 3/4" shells slide in nice but not overly tight. With the smaller shims they rattle to much I think. With NO shims a 3" fits perfect. So I dont see a reason for the smaller one, any ideas?

the thin shim is for some European slugs and buckshot. I run Fiocchi slugs and they wont fit in the carrier with the fat shims in. Ive got two with the thin shim just for slugs, and the rest use the big one.

you can do that, but its almost as easy to run a 4 rounder and just load it with slugs, that way if you are pulling them its no different than pulling out birdshot.
