Nice! Can't wait to see your first bars! Make sure you do as much research as you can. Be careful, some of the soap making sites can get a bit mamby-pamby, but just ignore the the touchy-feely crap and look for solid information. Any questions you have, ask. Also, before you actually make the first batch, do a pre-flight with all of your equipment and a dry run so you understand exactly what you are doing at each step. Once you pour the lye into the oil, you won't have much time to think about what is next.

Ok, thanks for the tips. What else do I need?

Lots of good information here. Miller's Homemade Soap Page Basically, you need mixing containers, make SURE they are stainless steel, glass or ceramic. A stick blender, some mixing utensils, again, stainless steel, rubber coated, etc. (Aluminum will react badly to lye). Rubber gloves, painter's mask and safety glasses. A GOOD digital kitchen scale. Read up on the above website.

Also, go to Mossy Creek Soap Videos and pick up the The Everything Soapmaking Book. That will give you all the basic data you need.

What is the best stick blender to get?

We use two (his and hers) Kitchenaide stick blenders (Amazon.com: KitchenAid KHB100OB Hand Blender, Onyx Black: Home & Garden) and they work well. Can't speak to any other brands. Miller's Homemade Soap website has a section on the different stick blenders.
