That was some awesome photography. I wonder what the range was on the rigs they were flying.

I know they have pretty good range if you use non-FCC compliant stuff.

I remember back in the '80s when I got into RC (cars), the range on the planes was probably a little over a half mile. If you lost sight, you had to go on a hunting trip to fine the parts.

It is much farther than that now. Most of the limitations is FCC based.

That hobby doesnt seem very cost effective! I would wreck one pretty fast!

That's why I always liked boats.

Of course you can still crash one bad enough that it might sink, but you should have enough flotation built-in to keep it afloat until you can recover it.

Thinking about building another weedeater powered deep-V. Those are a lot of fun.
