Had to go read the thread. V-F-R you are entirely correct and I hate to say it, but that is exactly why I don't go downtown if I can help it, it's why I carry 4 extra mags on me and it's why I'm ready to draw at the drop of a hat. As someone said in that thread, that's why cities fight having MARTA extend out to them, it brings the cockroaches out. If it were me and my family on that train and this shit happened it would have been open season on ghetto goblins and I wouldn't have stopped until the slide locked back on the last mag and my blade was stuck in someones head.

I have to agree, and anyone who thinks that it's not a certain demographic, is lying to themselves. Not saying by any means that it's a black, hispanic, or white thing, it's the whole thug/gangsta mindset. It's the people whe believe that they "deserve" something for doing nothing. It's all the people who believe they can just take what they want without ever putting a drop of sweat into it. I do agree that running from it is not an option, but neither is sitting back and blaming everything else except for the people who cause it. All it boils down to is instead of punishing the ones who are wrong, more work goes into finding excuses of why they act a certain way. Most of this nation has grown to just accept that, and that is the problem.

I get both sides of the argument. I agree with what some else said if you don't like MARTA or the people who live in Atlanta, don't go! It's that easy. There are plenty of overly priced parking lots downtown, so if you want to go downtown take your car and park it your self, avoid MARTA if you don't like it so much.

I like MARTA, actually, it's pretty cheap, you get kick ass dollar coins as change (which I like spending at normal places and getting a "huh" look from the person running the register), awesome people watching too! Sure some of the trains are falling apart and it's a maze trying to figure out which train to take and where to get off, and maybe it's a giant waste of tax payer dollars but it's not going away any time soon, so might as well look it glass half full.
