    Default Two Weeks Down

and 50 more to go. This place is so dusty that it is hanging in the air almost 10,000 feet up. Camp Leather neck isn't near as bad an Bagram or Kandahar though. No pics yet. I'll try to get some on my half day off next week. hard to get them when it's dark when you go to work and dark when you get back to the hooch.

I did get to see an AC130 drop 105's last Friday. That was cool. I had to look hard but I could see the flash every once and a while and every now and then I could feel the ground reverberate with the impact.

I'll check back in every now and then.

I was working on one of the Cougar MRAPS yhe past couple days and I have discovered that the OCN's working with us have absolutely NO troubleshooting skills.

we had a problem with the differential lock and all wheel drive not working. These guys kept wanting to replace the switches and solenoids for the systems. I told the to stop while I did some research on the electrical schematics. After about 2 hours in the tech books and thinking about it last night I figured the latching relay wasn't LATCHING. After another quick look at the schematic this morning I fount the AWD #2 diode was installed backwards. How it got that way I don't have a clue. Anyways, I installed the diode the correct way and with a quick couple mile test drive around the camp the diff lock and AWD now operate properly. Yay team.

These things are cool as shit to drive but you can't see squat out of them. They need lots of more mirrors. Blind spots all over.

Sorry, no pics yet. I'll try to get around to taking some when I get a chance too. If you want to see what one looks like google Cougar MRAP 6x6.

can't wait to drive one of the MATV's.
