Hold My Beer and Watch This!
I've always been conflicted on this one....
1. I don't smoke marijuana or do any other drugs. Never drank any alcohol.
2. I think people are free to do what they want to themselves so long it ain't harming someone else....even if I think it's a stupid decision, that's their freedom.
3. I'm not sure if I could come to terms with living in a place that tolerates marijuana socially...I can hardly do it now being at college with so many undisciplined losers who can't take care of themselves but speed government school loans on weed to smoke.....it's the attitude and idiocy associated with so much of this that I have a problem with honestly.
4. There are other countries that have legalized Marijuana and also have much lower drinking ages. They don't have as much problem...therefore showing that there are consequences created by social stigma of restriction instead of education and discipline for moderation. People enjoy themselves without going crazy or stupid because they have control under what is just uniform. Therefore, my thoughts in number 3 are for the most part subjective to me being a United States citizen and having a prejudice built into my mind about the drinker/smoker.
5. Because of the way our culture has been formed, you couldn't just throw us on those rules mentioned and expect the culture to snap change to a calmer state like others instantaneously.
These are my fairest thoughts on the matter.
I also don't like to mention it because this is again subjective to my experience but I can't conclusively say that everyone who smokes weed is stupid. But all the stupid people I know also just happen to smoke weed. That is only meant to be a gateway to my perspective and personal rhetoric, not some method by which I now judge people absolutely.
At the end of the day, this junk rattles my brain and I just bring it back to God and remember something I learned in church, "It's not about looking for loopholes and cracks and finding things that we can get away with. It's about studying, understanding, and pursuing what we are SUPPOSED to do." So I don't keep up too much anymore with material and pleasurable desires I once explored....and I'm free from the thought for the most part.
