    Thumbs up New rifle purchase Questions?

    Hello All;

    I have a question I would like yalls input on. My self and my wife are looking for a good rifle to purchase but I need it to be good for 3 things.

    1st and foremost is durability and accuracy.

    2nd of course is hunting. Something with good accuracy and stopping power.

    3rd is target shooting. Something that is accurate, light weight if possible and inexpensive to shoot.

    I used to shoot hand guns a lot recently wanted to get back into shooting but would like to use rifles now.

    Thanks any input is appreciated!

    My first vote would be a Ruger Mini-14. But I know there has been some accuracy issues with some of them, but I've never had a problem with them, magazines are kind of expensive though. I guess the best thing would be an AR15, but that's kinda generic.

    You know I'm going to say an AR15 in 6.8, but it's not really lightweight.

    Easy, buy a good lever action 30-30, dependable as they come and great for hunting under 200 yds, and buy a 10/22.for target, you'll probably have around $500 in both rifles all together.

    I'd opt for a 30-06 bolt action. With a 4-12x scope.

    That drives everything else. 6.8 is a great choice, mine is a lightweight.
