Default So who has a 50 cal glock?

Thinking of buying a 50 caliber Glock. Anyone have one?

Not me. I've shot a Desert Eagle 50 and a 50 revolver though. Putting a mag and cylinder of rounds downrange in a few minutes was enough to make my hand ache.

The 50 cal conversion for the glock is 50 GI a proprietary cartridge made by Guncrafter Industries for a custom 1911. They have since come out with a quick conversion slide kit. The 50GI is a low pressure cartridge.

Let's compare 50 cal to 9mm. The 500 S&W would be a 357 magnum, the 50 AE would be 9x19mm, and 50 GI woudl be 380 acp. Felt recoil of 50GI is identical to 45 acp.

Looks like between $1-$2 a round for factory loaded. In reloads it is only $1 more per 100 rounds than 45 acp.

Compare to 500 S&W at up to $6 per round...

That's not bad if you reload.

    If you're going to be into any connoisseur/dead cartridges you have to reload. .41AE, .41 mag, 10mm, 357 max, 9x25mm, 500 S&W...

I've got a rifle in a not common caliber. Ammo is $45+ for 20 online. Good thing I've got a lot of new unprimed brass...
