    Default Hello all from Michigan

Nice to meet everyone. I've been lurking for a day after it was suggested I join here. Gotta say you guys got a good thing goin' and I would like to join in.

I do security and have for almost 20 years. It pays the bills but don't suggest anyone try to make a living off of it.

I've also studied martial arts since I was a kid, boxing, wrestling, judo, Thai boxing and the last eight years wing chun. I was power lifting for a few years. I now just weight train, study martial arts and do yoga, not much sparring and no competition anymore.

I also play guitar in a couple bands. Blues and rock are my thing. I've been with John Lee Homicide since 94, we play everything, blues, jazz, rock, heavy rock. We have a couple cd's out but just do it for fun these days.

I've made longbows and have been into traditional archery and hunting for years. A couple years ago that led to making knives and learning the craft slowly, just gave my knives away. People asked that I make them, sold a few here and there. This is still a hobby for me, I make a couple dozen a year on request. I try to make knives as gifts for active duty combat guys when I can afford it, I'm making one now for a friend on his third tour in the Marines.

Glad to be here, nice to meet everyone!
    Jason

    Thanks for the welcome guys!
I'm very busy, barely find time for sleep some days.
I could do a thread on longbows. I more make flatbows than traditional English longbows. As soon as I get a bit of time and figure out how to post pics I'ld be more than happy to start a thread. Lately though I've been spending more time building and setting up a couple of BCM AR's. Building things oneself wether it be longbows or AR-15's lends to learning more and is very rewarding, or maybe it's OCD.haha

Nice to meet you guys, looks like I found a good place to hang out.

welcome, just watch out for those CPL!......?

skip thos BCM lowers and contact semper fi arms for some C3 bilet enhanced lowers. they are made here in Ga where we know what guns are supposed to be used for as opposed to you yankees. you wont be disapointed.

also if you find yourself making a nice fixed blade skinner then feel free to send it down my way and I will do a review of it for ya. I prefer S30v or Aus steel
