I just got rid of a 40 and went back to 9mm partly because of the price of ammo i want something that i could afford to blow through 100 rounds on a good range day with a 40 it will almost break you i can get 100 9mm FMJ target rounds for right at 20 bucks not to shabby

Crap, I might have to be in the market for a 9mm. .38 & .40 seem to be around the same price bracket to fire. I ended up not going to the show, but a friend from work did. He said is was borderline chaos around the ammo tables. He managed to grab a box of 500 .40 and then sat in a checkout line for half an hour!

try a 22 $20 500 and they are getting hard to find

Welcome aboard. I am also a non-hunter who enjoys target shooting with my handguns. Ammo is getting pricey, but I won't get rid of anything I have. I just don't shoot as much.
