most of the ga arms reloads i've had were all right but i'm broke as a joke right now and at 35-50 dollars a box this is an expensive one to shoot.....
i had a great uncle who used to talk about shootin deer with a 22 back in the Great Depression when they had to eat.......you know it might all come back to that......
i'm a fat kid and i likes to eat.

No reloads for me, but I can vouch for the factory Winchester 140gr Accubonds.
red12g,
I do have some of those. Thank the Good Lord I bought some before ammo got so expensive. I have a Tikka T3 that seems to shoot most any load OK...none of them to the same POI though. It seemed to shoot the Federal premium 130 ballistic tips the most accurately of all. I have a couple of boxes of those.
What I am hoping to do is come up with a load here soon that is a little detuned from from the factory loads. I would have gotten a regular 270 but all that anyone had in a left handed bolt gun at the time was the Tikka that I liked. I love the gun- I have come to dislike the stock.
The other reason I bought it was that I acquired 200 rounds of new factory brass & a die set for about .10 on the dollar. I thought I'd be able to go a while on that without ever having to buy ammo. My old man's main gun is a regular 270 so I already have a fair amt of loading components for it.
Saw some 270wsm ammo in a store around here the other day for get this -$57 a box. No thanks.
In my pile of 270 bullets I have some 140 accubond so maybe I'll load some. I've always used the ballistic tips with good results-
if you or anyone had to pick what would you choose?
accubond or ballistic tip?

L.O. , for a dang long time all I ever used in my 7mm rem mag was 150 g ballistic tip - accurate & deadly....kinda rough on meat but I never had one run. To this day the best group I have ever shot with an off-the-shelf rifle/bullet/load combo was my Ruger no.1 7mag/150 BT - 5/8"@100yds. No.1's aren't supposed to shoot that good..Heck I don't shoot that good any more. I still have a box of handloads with all the recipes I cooked up for it while I was livin in the 'Boro...So I never changed in that gun. Turned my pa onto BT's for his 270 and now he is a convert to 'em. In fact (being that things are slow at my shop) this week's project is start working on a BT load for my 7-30 Waters Contender.![]()

Shootin&strummin,
In a 270wsm, I'd opt for the tougher accubond. The very high velocity coupled with the probability of a typically short Georgia shot makes me think that the bonded bullet would fare better. You also wont have to re-zero if you pack up and go looking for larger game like elk.
I do love 140gr ballistic tips in my 7mm-08 though. That combo has killed like lightning for me!
