Thread: RCBS Dies

How many of you or have heard of RCBS dies being out of spec. I thought all that was checked pretty close.

Well i had bought quite afew new dies. All of my dies are Redding Match or Custom Cut Match dies. Well Local dealer was haven a really good buy on RCBS dies so i bought dies in everything i use. More then one press so why not. Well i have two sets of 308 dies that are out of spec. When i say out of spec i mean no matter how deep that die is it wount size to even close to spec. Both sets are this way. Here is what RCBS told me on the phone. " I'm doing something wrong" "Your a novice reloader your not doing it right" " Our dies can't be out of spec we use the same reamer tell it gets dull and resharpen-Ok everyone know resharpen means taken material away." Send the dies back we will recut them for a price of about three times what new dies will cost. Or just take them to a machine shop an have them take 3 one-hundredths of a thousands off the face of the die. It should be fine.

I have used RCBS for years. I have been reading and hearing alot of bad things of lately.

I have some and all mine are ok.

Most of mine are Lee but I do have one RCBS. Haven't used it much. Sad to hear that their quality is going down hill.

never heard of it, see how it could happen though. All i have and use use is lee stuff. If you want a few thousandths taken off the face, I'd be happy to do it for ya.

Most out there are ok. Just these last few months you hear crappy things. I hope things change I really like there stuff.

I though they were top notch.

For Manny Manny years they have. I was really surprised when i started reading bad reviews.
