Thread: Just got my Marlin 45/70.......Pic

Very nice rifle.May not be tactical but that 45-70 looks like"I mean business".Don't know much of anything around here it want put down.Probably not much in North America that it want put a hurtin on.

405s at 1800fps sounds brutal on both ends. Now I gotta see how fast the 405s were moving out of my SOCOM. I dont think it was anywhere near 1800fps.

Actually a Guide gun just like that has been used to take all species of dangerous game in Africa, including elephant. Garrett Hamerhead loads are no joke.

Hey Jack. My oldest runs the 45-70 guide gun & runs the 350s @ 1800fps. The 405s will be intertaining to say the least. One thing nice about the 45-70, you load it until you cant take it

You need a 45/70...... it's for sale or trade.

Get you a box of Garrett's 520gr. hardcast Hammerheads at 1595fps and report back...
