I did mine several years ago, Houge overmolded stock, 920 target barrel by Butler Creek (this barrel weights a ton).
More recently I changed the Redfield mount to a Picattiny rail and Weaver QD lever steel rings, and a RWS 3x9 scope with adjustable Objective and target turrets.

The use of the Picattiny rail and QD mount will permit me to change to another scope for field use, something with more field of view and less magnification than 3X, maybe a Weaver 1x to 3x for quick shots. I am still debating with myself which one to mount.

It shoot very well, but it is not lightweight.

At some point I changed the Ruger release to a Quick magazine release from ??

Wife said my parts came in yesterday!

I finally got a chance to install the new parts.Can't decide if I'm going to leave the Tasco RedDot on or put the BSA Sweet22 scope on.........

Looks nice there Stryc! Why not at least try the red dot at a couple distances and see how you like it before putting the scope on? I have a green dot I've had on my pellet gun, my .454 Super Redhawk, and my 2245. I've now figured out that I can hit better without it at the 10 meter targets (unrested) and hit better with it at the 25 meter targets. I may just put it back on the pellet gun.

I just tried it out using some CCI sub-sonic ammo along with my TAC65......it ran flawless and sounded quite.

Red dot goes on the GSG, the Sweet 22 goes on the 10/22.

THats my vote.

Was thinking about this for the GSG-5 since it already has a built in mount.
