Default Hey all. Opinions on first .308

Was thinking about buying a reliable semi .308. Would be my first in that caliber. Would use it most likely for shooting assorted ammo (cheap stuff, bulk military, steel cased, etc). Maybe even go deer hunting with it? An all around decent brush rifle.

    Any suggestions?

Very nice. I think if I were to go that route I would try to find an AR type rifle with a piston upper versus a traditional GI unit. I have a Bushmaster 5.56 M4 Patrolman's Carbine that I've been thinking about putting a piston upper on.

    And thanks.

I have an FNAR .308 rifle.

If you wanted an AR piston .308 I have been selling the PWS MK216's. These are a really bad azz rifle for the money. If I didn't already have the FN I would have one for my self. Shoot I might keep one anyways.

Me and another member on here just put an Adams arms piston kit on a 14.5" midlength, pretty easy to install if you have the tools and a vice and looks awesome on the rifle, nice kit, but we still haven't made it to the range yet. As far as .308, maybe M1A, looks and feels awesome with the troy chassis system and normally reliable as hell.

You wouldn't by any chance be bringing one to the Augusta gun show this weekend would you, I can honestly say I'm too broke to buy one right now, but I'd love to see one in person, read good things about them.

Hell no, I sold two of them so far this year and I am waiting 30+ days for each one. The one I have on order right now is also already sold. I was going to have Claire put them on my web site (still might) but I can't get them fast enough if someone orders one.

I do have a 12" 5.56 upper you can check out. Pretty close to the MK216 design just slightly smaller.

Damn, Lol, might be why I haven't seen one on person yet.

That PWS is intense. Very nice. A good bit more $$ than I had in mind though. I'll keep it in mind though. Maybe sell off a couple of pieces to fund it.

    Thanks again.

Whilst perusing the webz looking at .308 chambered ARs, I rediscovered that you can now get them chambered in 7.62x39. I knew that they were being produced but had forgotten about them. Anyone have any experiences with them?
