Default Let's talk about the 870

Just bought one....no idea what to do with it. So far I got a Daniel Defense sling mount on the way. Already have an Elzetta ZSM on it as well as a Surefire 6P that I plan to put an LED module in.

Jones Tactical single-point sling coming soon.

I have ONE problem with this thing...if I load 5 rounds in the tube it works fine. Six rounds and get it gets stuck and binds up....I have to press it loose with a rod through the factory extension and when I do, the spring goes back with authority......is this a follower issue? Spring issue?

Also looking into the Mesa Tactical Urbino stock for a shorter LOP.

    Hunt with it!

Can you look in the tune and see if its bent? I know to add an extention you have to straighten out two dimples on the end of the tube.

Well it's factory...not an add on.

But from what I've read the tube needs to be tapped on in order to seat the extension. What I believe is happening is a gap between the tube and the extension that the spring is catching in. Have to check it this weekend.

HA! Don't know too much about hunting with an 18.5 inch barrel.

what's the choke? I'm guessing its a fixed cylinder or improved cylinder barrel, should shoot slugs fine or even buck shot, I have killed a few deer with a 18.5" barrel mossberg. should be fine to deer hunt with, as far as the extension, I have no idea, I'dremove the follower and see how it looks with a flashlight.

I was told that it has a built in fixed cylinder choke.

Though....I do plan to send it to Vang Comp and get that special work done just for functional fun.

And yeah, the more I think about it the more I think that there is a gap between the magazine and extension that I cause by not seating before I tightened it down. Will check this Thursday or Friday.

870 exspress had the dimples that need to be drimeled out for a tube.
