Ok, Ill put my 2 cents into some thoughts on the Head Down lowers.

I visited the Head Down shop a couple weeks or so ago, met with David Hunsucker, chief man and head rifle builder extordinaire. As we talked he worked and put together 2 lowers while we talked. Each lower is hand assembled from parts kits, opened fresh for that build .... there isnt a bag o parts for each piece and one is randomly pulled out and pout in its place. The grips are brand new out of the package and installed and everything once assembled it is function checked, the safety is cycled a handful of times to make sure it works and then it is considered finished.

Also while I was there David showed me the new uppers to go along with the lowers. Classy is one word that would be used to describe the new gen 2 uppers. I was also able to witness David build an upper while we talked. I watched him assemble an upper with a Head Down proprietary rail system, and man it was sharp and easy to assemble. The barrel nut is the same for 308 rifles and 556 guns, makes it easy to use with either platform.

399 for a complete premium billet lower is a steal of a deal if you ask me.
