I think it will help. If I get to that level and all I had to drink is hot water.......cheers I'm drinking it.

Hold My Beer and Watch This!
Personally I think it should be avoided .... part of drinking cool water is that it goes to the body's core, and will help cool the core. If the water that you are drinking is hotter than the core it seems that it would only cause to heat the core even more which is not the desired effect.
I am sure that they taught you to get the person into the shade for its cooling ability. I would think that the same for water would be true, although I think that ice water would not be good.
Yeah, they taught us that. Cold water, not ice water.
I also thought about the hot water heating up the person.
But I'm wondering if it's like an engine block , where the heat inside is still much greater than the hot water being used to cool. it.
I dont think that the engine is a good analogy.
The water in an engine is cycling thru it, and is designed to be heated and then pull the heat away from the engine and be cooled before going back and being heated again. With the body water is not being cycled thru it. Also what is the core temperature of the human body when faced with heat exhaustion? I would think that water in the car all day would be much warmer than the core temp of the body.
Ah...
That is something to consider.
When we go back to form I'll probably ask and bring up these topics.
It's some information that not everyone considers until it happens...and at that point it's too late to be thinking about what's safe and what's not safe.
OK, this is kinda off topic, but similarly related somewhat.
Mom had a piece of bread stuck in her throat the other day and was trying to get it to pass with some cold water, but it was only causing her throat to constrict even further on the bread. She had a nurse stop and help her, the nurse told her hot water, it helps to melt the bread and to keep her throat from constricting around it further.
That's something good to remember for that purpose.
