Is it my imagination or are the prices for 6920s falling fast?

Weren't these fetching 1500-1800 a few months ago?

    How low will they go?

I think you're correct. Heck, I ask a local dealer about one two weeks ago and the guy said $1650.00............ I said no thanks

For the money, I would get a DD XV instead of a 6920 and never look back. You get all the features of the Colt along with a hammer forged barrel. You also get a few intangibles like supporting a local business which happens to be a site sponsor and having Savannah, GA on your lower.

FWIW, DD, S&W, Charles Daly, Ruger, and the other companies that are now offering complete carbines are all eating into the Colt market share. I don't think we will see 6920's go for much less than 1K, but is good to see the street prices get a little more realistic.

Does DD sell direct? Or do I have to go through a third party?

AIM has the XV for $1139 and $1299 with the 7in Omega rail.

Any local dealers able to beat that?

This is an issue I had with DD...their price structure for dealers is not condusive to mom & pop shops.... the big boys get much steeper discounts.
I guess its someone's thinking that it would be better to sell to the bigger places and let them distribute to the small ones - less shipping/billing hassles
My wife's uncle is a DD dealer but you can buy off gunbroker or AIM or wherever about as cheap as his dealer cost......

All that said imho the DD is as nice as anything- i'm very happy with mine (2 DDM4's)
its not the arrow, it's the indian....

Don't know about pricing but, you can buy direct from DD. Also check with Dean Forest and Patrick Uniform in Garden City.
