Same here. I just got a VCAS sling, so there's a start. But I've got to at least put together a war belt, if not a plate carrier rig, soon.

Well you guys know who to come to if you want to start on food .

This is my humble home preparedness neck pouch.

I got this from some stuff Clint Smith was talking about.

The idea is that a regular low-speed person like myself may not have gear around or have to travel around without that gear. Even with that gear around it can't always be put on very quickly.

The neck pouch sits anywhere near your bed or nightstand weapon and can be quickly secured around your neck.

From here items can be reached with relative ease. Mine is adjusted where the bottom of the pouch is just above my waistline. Here's what it looks like from my perspective when worn:

I know a lot of people plan to stow a mag in their pockets...I thought the same way. But what if I'm not wearing pockets? What if I just came out of the shower? What if someone broke in while I was busy with my spouse? I can wear this no matter what clothes I'm wearing ...or not wearing.

Moving it under my support arm puts the magazines in a place similar to where they are normally and also helps mitigate the weight strain on the neck...even though that shouldn't be too much an issue in a situation like this. It's not long-term gear...It's .. I just woke up and I need my support equipment.

    Here's the content shot:

1- Charged cell phone. It is disconnected but still able to call out to 9-1-1. I check the battery every other night or so.

2- Flashlight, same one that I keep in my pocket. Now normally I keep a light clipped in my pocket but again there are times where I may be caught naked or without pockets. This gives me a back-up/secondary

3- Knife, same concept as the flashlight since I keep a better knife on me 99% of the time. No I don't plan to fight with it...it's there if I need it for...whatever...

4- Pistol mag...well...um...yeah you all know why that's useful.

    5- Rifle mag...too easy...

So why the pistol and rifle mag? I'm not going to play the game of saying which I'd rather use in home defense. I simply subscribe to the fact that it may be either one. Common sense applies so if I sleep in a place where I only have access to my pistol...I take the rifle mag out.

The best part of this setup is that it's so small and light that I can take it with me no matter where I'm staying and stay with me at all times and carry well in a bag. It can go out with me in my bag, and easily go back to it's place when I return home. And as with all gear...it requires indexing practice.

I also have a molle belt setup but I'd like to get better pictures of that before I talk about it. Same goals apply to the setup though: Easy and quick to don with any clothes, or even while stripped to nothing.
